ZTM WAW

Having lived here in Warsaw for about a year, I have to say a few things about the public transit system here. It's alot better thank TO - even though WAW is 1/2 the size of TO. They have a similar web site like the TO one. The two biggest differences are the stops - all of them have special names. They all have things to do with the areas around - like the one beside the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum would be called - ROM. Now - that's not to say that EVERY stop has a different name - all stops at the same interection or two corresponding stops at other sides of the street have the same name. Although the metro is a little smaller than TO, the streetcar system is alot more built up. The other difference is the lines - all of them have special names: the buses all have 3 digit numbers. The 100's and 200's are regular lines, the 500's are fast lines (only stop at main intersections) and the 700's are even faster (only selected stops). The ones with "N"'s in front of them are night buses - buses run all night, twice every hour. all the trams - streetcars - are 2 digit.
A city this size would have alot more cars in Canada - but less people here can afford cars - so the system is probably used by more people. If they had a better transportation system in TO then they definitely wouldn't have the same traffic problem that they do now.

and that's my 2 cents on public transport in TO
