Save your Potash!

"If only we invested in Potash 5 years ago" my dad told me a while ago. I thought to myself - hindsight is always 20 / 20. Then I thought - what is Potash anyway? Well, Google finance's summary says that "Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. is an integrated fertilizer and related industrial and feed products company." Potash, the mineral, is a general term for potassium salts. Potash, as a nutrient, necessary for plant growth, and is heavily used in modern agricultural fertilizers.

So lets put this into perspective: Potash makes (vegetarian) food grow faster and bigger. We're mining potash heavily, in Saskachewan, Belarus, and Russia. So... putting two and two together: the amount of food that we can harvest is strongly dependent on... a NON-RENEWABLE resource, potash.

The bigger the world food crisis is, the higher the price of potash will be. If you ask me, this is a bigger problem than running out of oil: when we run out of the ability to produce enough food for us all, then there's going to be trouble..

No kidding! People should be less selfish, take some responsibility, and have way fewer kids!
